The Lost Secrets

Story

After greeting you Thai Pan will introduce himself and explain that he is a monk. He will then offer you a cup of green tea and then proceed to tell you a story about the ruins nearby.

He tells you that the ruins were once a sanctuary for scholars of his order. He explains that they were doing research into some ancient scrolls that they believed would lead them to a higher level of understanding. However, the monks weren’t driven by the will to do good but instead were driven by greed that eventually corrupted their minds and led to their downfall.

The sanctuary has now fallen to ruin and is now inhabited by zombies. Thai Pan goes on to explain that very few people have ventured into the ruins in recent times but that he is told that the ruins are filled with magic and contains a strange shrine.

Quest Objectives

To complete this quest, the player must:

• Obtain a Red Scroll by placing Grey Scrolls into the Holy Pool,
• Give the Red Scroll to Thai Pan.

Walkthrough

After receiving the quest head north to an old ruined building. To enter it you must find the fake wall. This ruin contains many fake walls and it is inhabited by Seeker Zombies that are frequently placed to block the path through the fake walls.

Seeker Zombies all have a chance to drop Grey Scrolls along with other loot. Grab all the Grey Scrolls you can as you travel through the ruin.

When you reach the Holy Pool you need to place the Grey Scrolls into it by using the Holy Pool while you have a Grey Scroll on your cursor. There is a 1/30 chance to receive a Red Scroll and a 1/70 chance to receive a Buddha Statue. Continue to place Grey Scrolls into the Holy Pool until you have a Red Scroll.

Now return to Thai Pan and give him the Red Scroll to receive your reward.

The Buddha Statue

There is a chance that you may receive a Buddha Statue when placing Grey Scrolls into the Holy Pool. If you give this statue to Thai Pan then he will remove some negs from you. This can be do as much as you like and can be done even after completing The Lost Secrets quest.

Notes

• The chance to receive a Red Scroll is 1/30 and the chance to receive a Buddah Statue is 1/70.
• The fake walls all have the MF_SOUNDBLOCK flag so chat or warcry won’t travel through or out of the fake walls. If Macro Daemon spawns inside a fake wall then you won’t be able to hear his question. If this happens move away from him until he spawns in the same room as you.
