Slay the Swampbeast

Story

After talking to Kelly, who agrees with Clara’s decision not to send in reinforcements, she asks you to head back in to the swamp and check in with Clara. Clara will say the main reason they have had to retreat to the outpost is because of one huge swamp beast which is immune to their attacks. She wants you to find a way to slay the beast, and mentions she heard rumours about a man who used to live with the swamp beasts north-east of the outpost, and suggests he may know a way to slay the beast.

Quest Objectives

To complete this quest, the player must:

• Kill a swamp beast at all three swamp circles between 00:00-01:00 to create a Level 36 Holy Weapon and then Slay the Swamp Beast King.

Quest Walkthrough

After talking to Clara who mentions that there used to be a man who lived with the swamp beasts north east of the outpost, head out the other entrance to the outpost and follow the path. Turn right at the path and follow it to the next building. In this area you will find level 28 Brown Swamp Beasts.

Head inside the building, through two rooms until you reach the room with a book and a chest.

Reading the book reveals that the man had studied the swamp beasts and that he has discovered the swamp beasts possess no intelligence, and the buildings and stone circles they occupy must have been built by humans previously. The book later shows pictures of a warrior standing within the stone circle, the sun under him, with his weapon glowing.

To complete the quest, you have to visit each stone circle at 00:00-01:00. Kill a swamp beast within the circle within this time frame and the weapon in your hand should glow. It is recommended that you use a blank weapon if yours is statted, as after the weapon glows it will become a quest item tied to that character, you will not be able to use it on any other character.

After going to the first stone circle, return to Clara who will give you a reward for finding out how to slay the Swamp Beast King. She will the tell you to find the others.

The further you go in to the swamp the higher the level of the beasts get, there are level 29 White Swamp Beasts and level 31 Green Swamp Beasts.

It is also extremely easy to drown within the swamp if you go too far from a path, further in the swamp there are usually dead trees which are higher up than the swamp and are usually safe places to follow or stand to regenerate. (Following the map below shows you where the safe routes are through the swamp, it is entirely possible to reach the stone circles by going through the deep parts of the swamp and using potions to keep yourself from dying.)

When you have killed a swamp beast (the kind of swamp beast doesn’t matter) at each stone circle, head back to Clara who will tell you that you can now go slay the Swamp Beast King. Make sure you have your holy weapon equiped when you talk to Clara, otherwise she will not tell you to go kill the King.

Head north out of the outpost and follow the path, this time turning left at the split, and then left again before the edge of the map.

Follow the broken path, killing the swamp beasts a long the way until you reach the end, where the Swamp Beast King will come towards you. Slay him using your level 36 holy weapon, (a lower level holy weapon will not work, it has to be level 36). After slaying him, head back to Clara to receive your reward.
