After finding The Third Skull, Nook makes a request of his own to find his stolen hat.
Story
A band of robbers have stolen Nooks hat and are holding it at ransom. It is very dear to him he inherited it from his father, however he is poor cannot pay the ransom. He would like you to meet a robber at midnight behind the ‘Brotherhood of Knights’, follow the robber and rescue the cap.

Quest Objectives
To complete this quest, the player must:
- Recover the Fool’s Hat from the Robbers and return it to Nook.
Quest Walkthrough
Exit Gwendylon’s Tower and head North-East past Fred and up to the Transport.
At 00:00 Astonian Time a robber will be standing between the Transport and the Brotherhood of Knights building (the large building to the East). At 00:15 the robber will begin to walk away, follow him until you reach a hole in the ground (244,78). Go down the hole when you reach it, you’ll enter the Robbers Outpost.
Do not worry about the robber seeing you as it will not attack you, it will also pause to ensure you can keep up.
In the Robbers Outpost are level 7 Robbers. Head straight through the building to the door on the opposite side of the ladder, beware of the Robber in the open middle area. In this room there should be two Robbers, kill them and find Nook’s Hat on one of their bodies.
Give the hat back to Nook to complete the quest.

Notes
- There is a key on one of the other Robbers in the building which will allow access to the door inside the large room where Nook’s Hat is found. In this room are two chests and a light. Using the light will open a secret entrance to another room with three more chests. One of these chests contains a +1 Stealth Ring. The others are random loot.
- You don’t have the wait for the thief at midnight. If you know the way you can do the quest whenever you want. In Old World there is a rough path leading the way from the teleporter to the hideout.
- It is possible to complete this quest before unlocking it. Simply obtain the Fool’s Cap and return it to Nook like normal.
