The Third Skull | Mages Gone Berserk |
Story
After examining the third Skull, Gwendylon realises that the Skull were created in his very tower. He doesn’t understand how this can be because he knows every room in it.
When you go out into the courtyard Nook will mention that the previous owner was a bit strange and would often murmur “Stand between torches, in the courtyard, stand between torches”.
He will also make a request of his own. See A Fool’s Request.
Walkthrough
Quest Objectives
To complete this quest, the player must:
- Kill the foul magician hiding in Gwendylon’s tower and bring his skull back to him.
Quest Walkthrough
After you have received the quest from Gwendylon head out into the courtyard. You should see two torches that are close to each other on the north-eastern wall. Stand between the torches and a concealed doorway will appear on the wall. Head through the doorway in to the room and go down the hole.
In this area you will encounter level 6 Guards that use warcry. Head past the first room with a guard and into the corridor. Head up to the end of the corridor and into the antechamber at the end of it. The next room contains Dorugin, a warrior and Moakin, a mage, both level 8.
After you’ve killed them you will find the final skull on Moakin’s body. Take it back to Gwendylon to finish his series of quests.

Notes
- It’s worth repeating this quest at least six times.
- After you’ve killed Moakin you’ll find a key on his body. The key is for three chests in another part of the building that contain a +1 Lightning Ring, a +1 Attack Ring and random loot.
- It’s worth looting Dorugin’s equipment to sell to an NPC as a new player.
- The experience cap for this quest is half your experience bar. For example, if your level 6 you’ll only receive 552 experience for this quest instead of 800.
- The 6 gold reward is only rewarded the first time the player completes the quest.
